I feel like I should get paid by FEMA always repeating myself giving the admonishment to make sure you have water, food, an alternative source of heat, and extra needed prescriptions on hand, etc. The website 72.org provides an idea for preparing for 72 hours - but then, how do you really prepare for living in an empire that will be almost instantaneously transformed into a third world country with the dollar death? The American public goes along with bombing Iraq ... and the rest of the story is still going on in Iraq - when those terrorists that were said flew planes into the trade towers were from Saudi Arabia... what can you say. Americans aren't real sharp.
The corporate-government can spin this news with the electronic transactions, recession, etc. Billions can be spent on the new Homeland Security Department - don't try to tell me moving those records into one building, in one city is to save money. It's the creation of one big excuse than can conveniently go boom - if need be to cover the banksters behinds.

Preliminary Report : This was an uncommonly large fireball! It occurred over northern New Mexico and I estimate that its path was roughly from around Questa heading towards the Springer area, or possibly from Taos heading towards the Wagon Mound area. On Friday night Sept. 25th, at approximately 9:03 pm EDT, an asteroid hit Earth just above Lake Ontario. It was a lucky strike, right in the middle of a network of seven all-sky cameras operated by the University of Western Ontario (UWO). The disintegrating asteroid produced a blinding fireball 100 times brighter than a full Moon. Analysis of infrasound records along with video from the seven camera stations lead researchers to believe that fragments of the asteroid could have reached the ground. "This bright fireball was large enough to have dropped meteorites in a region south of Grimsby on the Niagara Peninsula, providing masses that may total as much as several kilograms," according to a UWO press release.
Researchers at Western Ontario are interested in hearing from anyone within 10 km of Grimsby who may have witnessed or recorded the fireball, seen or heard unusual events at the time, or who may have found possible fragments of the freshly fallen meteorite. (NaturalNews) Natural fluctuations in the sun's atmosphere could cause it to fire a giant plasma ball at Earth, shutting down the planet's electric grids and leading to widespread social collapse, according to a report from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS).
Funded by NASA, the report draws attention to naturally occurring events known as coronal mass ejections (CME), in which a ball of plasma -- the charged, high-energy particles that comprise stars -- is fired from the sun. If such a ball strikes the Earth, it could produce rapid changes in the planet's magnetic field, leading to a surge of direct current in the long-range power lines that carry electricity through modern power grids.
Modern power grids are designed to carry electricity at extremely high voltage, making them especially susceptible to this kind of magnetic disruption. What they are not designed to do, however, is carry direct current. Transformers are particularly vulnerable, and sudden influx of direct current could cause the wiring inside the devices to melt. The NAS report estimates that within 90 seconds of a plasma ball hitting the Earth's magnetic field, power would be knocked out to 130 million people in the United States alone. The same effect is likely throughout the world.
"A really large storm could be a planetary disaster," said power industry analyst John Kappenman. In the First World, where everything from transportation to food and water distribution depends on electricity, this could create a humanitarian catastrophe.

Published: Oct. 10, 2009 at 3:07 PMLANSINGBURGH, N.Y., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- A 17-year-old Eagle Scout in Lansingburgh, N.Y., says he was suspended from school for a knife he kept in his car for emergency situations.
Lansingburgh Senior High School student Matthew Whalen said he was suspended for 20 days under the school district's Codes of Conduct when school officials learned of the 2-inch pocket knife in his car, WTEN-TV in Albany, N.Y., reported Thursday.
"My car is designed in a way that if I ever broke down, I'd be OK," Whalen said.
The school suspension last month is a rare negative mark against Whalen, who has completed Army basic training as part of his goal of attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Whalen is also on the honor roll and was recognized by the Boy Scouts of America and the city of Troy for saving a woman's life last summer.
Whalen's father, Bryan, told WTEN he was upset to learn of his son's punishment.
"I want him to have fair treatment based on his character," the elder Whalen said. "It just totally baffles me that they would go after this when they have much bigger fish to fry."
