Morning News Update | November 17, 2009

http://www2.nict.go.jp/y/y223/simulation/realtime/index.html

I'm not getting this morning update out very early this morning - the rate I'm going it will be a Noon News Update pretty soon!

Been reading through a stack of news articles about our Bowing Prez and his current China trip - kissing up to the country that owns us. After reading article upon article all I can weed out is a bunch of crap spun for the corporate-government media with absolutely no substance. There are alot of "closed door meetings" - would be fun to be a little mouse .

The planned take down of the US$ is part of Obama's job while in office - but to do it slow enough to pump out as much as they can before our country is dumped. It never fails to amaze me how the stock market goes UP when there is word of a "weak US$". Greed - shouldn't be that hard to understand actually.

Commonly known as Las Palmas is the capital (jointly with Santa Cruz) and the most populous city in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands and the ninth largest city in Spain, with a population of 381,123 in 2008. Nearly half (45,9%) of the people of the island and nearly 1/5 (18.35%) of all inhabitants of the Canary Islands lives in this city. It is also the fifth most populous urban area in Spain with a population of around 700,000[1] and (depending on sources) ninth or tenth most populous metropolitan area in Spain with a population of 625,892[2], 640,000[3] or 741,826[4]. Las Palmas is the largest city of the European Union outside Europe. Located in the northeast of the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, about 150 kilometers (~93 miles) off the northwestern coast of Africa[5] within the Atlantic Ocean.

Las Palmas enjoy a Subtropical climate, season with the summer temperatures lasts throughout the year. According to a study carried out by Thomas Whitmore, director of research on climatology at Syracuse University in United States, the Las Palmas enjoys "the best climate in the world".[6]

The city is home to the Canarian Ministry of Presidency (shared in a 4-year term with Santa Cruz), one half of the ministries and boards of the Canarian Government, (the other half being located in Tenerife), Gran Canaria Provincial Courts and two courts of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands.

MILKY WAY GALAXY NEWS

This undated photo released by Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich., shows physics professor Axel Mellinger pointing out a dust cloud in the Milky Way on a digital reflection of a sky panorama he created. Mellinger finished the two-year project combining 3,000 individual photographs to create the image of the night sky, with the Milky Way galaxy at the center. (ASSOCIATED PRESS)

Photo: stunning 648 megapixel image of the Milky Way

Physicist Axel Mellinger spent nearly two years traveling 26,000 miles across South Africa, Texas and Michigan. What does he have to show for it? Well, he's cobbled together a stunning 648 megapixel panorama of the Milky Way as seen from Earth, using 3,000 individual photographs. The Central Michigan University professor wants to make the image available for planetariums, as it's large enough to serve educational purposes. It even shows stars that are 1,000 times too faint to be seen by the human eye, so this is a Milky Way like you've never seen.

Snow hits southeastern Nebraska

About 6,200 homes and businesses in southeast Nebraska
lost power in the storm

A narrow band of heavy snow left southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa a soppy mess Monday.

About 6,200 homes and businesses in southeast Nebraska lost power in the storm, according to public power districts serving the area. Law enforcement officials reported a number of accidents as cars slid off the road.

Slushy roads and low visibility were reported to be the main problems. At one point Monday morning, the rate of snowfall was 2 inches an hour, according to the National Weather Service.

Most areas that had snow received about 6 inches, said Cathy Zapotocny, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Valley. A few locations, Diller and Endicott, received 8 to 10 inches.

The Omaha metropolitan area was expected to miss the brunt of the storm, although people could awaken Tuesday to lingering snow or rain.

Because the ground is warm, most of the snow has receded from roads and sidewalks. Zapotocny cautioned that people be careful on bridges and overpasses, even porches and steps. Overnight lows areexpected to dip below freezing.

Most of Monday’s power outages affected customers of Norris Public Power District.

Crews were expected to work through the night restoring power to the approximately 4,200 Norris customers without electricity, said Andrea Schafer, spokeswoman.

The outages occurred in southern Gage, southeastern Jefferson and southern Thayer counties

Heavy, wet snow and wind knocked tree branches onto power lines, which in turn brought down power lines and poles. Reports of power outages began around 8:00 a.m., she said.

The weather is expected to gradually improve as the week wears on. According to AccuWeather Inc., the World-Herald’s weather service, Tuesday is likely to be cloudy and chilly and Wednesday should be a bit better.

By Thursday and Friday, skies are forecast to be partly sunny and daytime highs in the Omaha metropolitan area are expected to climb back into the 50s.

Washington Examiner | Forget jobs summit: Turn on California's water

For Fresno and California's entire Central Valley, it should be the best of times.

With the dollar weak and the world hungry, the exceptionally fertile fields along the Golden State highway should be producing record yields of grains, fruits, vegetables and nuts.

Instead framers are struggling to keep even a third of their potential acreage in use. Mile after mile of parched land greets the approach to the city of 500,000. And angry signs along the roadside condemn the federal government that has cut off the valley's water.

The delta smelt, a small fish that makes its home in the vast Sacramento Delta, has been declared endangered. Since late last year the water lifeline from the north to the south has been reduced to a trickle.

The pumps that power the water to the farms have been stilled for months at a time so as to avoid sucking in smelt. The smelt's numbers have been reduced by many causes, but the one the federal government has decided to target is the pumps.

When Washington, D.C., ordered the water shut off, jobs went down the drain. Tens of thousands of farm jobs have been lost, and unemployment in some farming towns has hit 40 percent.

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., posture about their concern (Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., can't even be bothered to meet with local officials), and the region's Democratic congressmen like Reps. Dennis Cardoza and Jim Costa pledge action, but the president, his senior officials and congressional allies have done nothing. A new, man-made dust bowl is taking shape, and the devastation is palpable. FULL STORY>>>>

Unfriend is New Oxford American Dictionary's 2009 word of the year

NEW YORK - What word sums up 2009? How about unfriend?

That's the New Oxford American Dictionary's 2009 Word of the Year.

It means to remove someone as a friend on a social networking Web site such as Facebook. Each year Oxford University Press tracks how the English language is changing and chooses a word that best reflects the mood of the year.

Finalists for 2009 also included netbook, which is a small laptop, and sexting, which is sending sexually explicit texts and pictures by cellphone.

Hackers Breach Nebraska State Database

Affected Servers Hold Worker's Compensation Information

LINCOLN, Neb. -November 16, 2009 - A hacker has broken into the Nebraska Worker's Compensation database, prompting an FBI investigation and an effort to contact those who may be affected.

Several thousand people could be affected by the breach, which was discovered last week when the state's chief information officer noticed an unusual amount of Internet traffic traversing the Worker's Compensation courts server.

The Nebraska State Patrol then stepped in to investigate further.

The server was immediately shut down, said Worker's Compensation Court Administrator Glenn Morton.

Workers who have filed court claims or who are collecting benefits may have had their names, addresses, birthdates and social security numbers compromised.

"It's extremely unfortunate that it happened on this server with those particular records," Morton said.

State patrol investigators are trying to determine how the breach happened and who did it.

Morton said attacks on the system are constant and that a threat can penetrate anytime the system lets its guard down.

"We keep upgrading our systems and, unfortunately, this is one case where the guard was down a little and somehow the data was accessed," he said.

Morton said he's confident the state patrol will identify specific records that have been compromised. The Worker's Compensation court will then contact those people whose records were breached.

Morton said he doesn’t believe there's a great danger the information will be used for identity theft.

"But we can't say that for sure because we just don't know," he said.

The FBI will soon join the patrol's investigation and contact those whose records were breached.

Meanwhile, those who fear their records may have been breached should monitor their bank statements and request a credit report, according to the state attorney general.

FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE CORPORATION (FDIC) - IS DOING A BOOMING BUSINESS IN REAL ESTATE

FDIC, Reluctant Landlord, Owns $1.8 Billion In Real Estate

November 17, 2009

Sheila Bair, de facto real estate magnate?

As the mortgage market imploded over the past few years, the head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation has watched as her agency became the owner of thousands of soured real estate properties, the Wall Street Journal reports this morning. In total, the FDIC currently owns $1.8 billion real estate, the WSJ notes.

Though the WSJ focuses on the agonizing process of unloading an Atlanta housing development named Dresden Heights -- located next to a Waffle House and a Motel 6, apparently -- the massive role the government is playing in propping up the housing market has come under increasing scrutiny of late.

The financial crisis and the real estate downturn have become linked in a vicious cycle. It goes something like this: borrowers default on their mortgages, banks holding mortgage assets fail, and, in bailing out the failed banks, the government is left owning thousands of shoddy real estate properties.

A quick scan of the some of the properties the FDIC is currently trying to unload, via the agencies website, reveals part of the problem. The agency is selling vastly different properties in very different markets (everything from a $1,800 single-family home in Detroit, and a $1 million property outside of Sacramento).

Corbett Report - Estulin | After G20, Oligarchs Moving on African Union, Population Reduction

In an exclusive interview with The Corbett Report earlier today, Daniel Estulin revealed the behind-the-scenes details of last week's G20 Finance Minister's meeting in St. Andrews, Scotland. Many of these details come from actual G20 documents that his sources were able to sneak out of the meetings in spite of security measures which, Estulin notes, were unprecedented "even by Bilderberg standards." These documents, which contain valuable information about the conference, are available at BilderbergBook.commirrored on The Corbett Report homepage. They were smuggled out at great personal risk and need to be disseminated widely. and have been

The key issue discussed at the meeting, according to Estulin, was "the next step in globalization, which is the creation of the African Union." This is part of an unfolding agenda of the ceding of national sovereignty to unnacountable regional governments which can more easily administer and implement the aims of the financial oligarchs. One of these aims is the elite's exhaustively documented penchant for population reduction, including tying development aid to population control problems. "The creation of the borderless African continent will be spearheaded by the IMF."

One of the smuggled documents shows that an attendee had the IMF articles of agreement at the meeting and highlighted the fact that funds were made available "under adequate safeguards" to member nations. This is code speak for imposing draconian measures designed to plunge countries into virtual servitude, with the result that in Africa, countries spend five times more revenue on servicing their IMF debts than they do on health care for their own citizens.

Watch an excerpt of the interview in the video:

The meeting's attendees, also identified in the smuggled documents, reads like a who's who of the financial oligarchical elite, including leading Bilderbergers such as U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, World Bank President Bob Zoellick, Turkish Finance Minister Ali Babacan and British Finance Minister Alistair Darling and many others. The Trilateral Commission was also represented at the conference by Japanese members Yoshihiko Noda and Masaaki Shirakawa.

In the interview, Estulin discusses the G20's debate on dumping the U.S. dollar which he first revealed would be on the meeting's agenda in a press release last week. He indicates that the matter, although discussed, was rejected . "The American and the British delegations tried to persuade the Russian and the Chinese delegates to devalue the dollar and create a basket of currencies or another world currency to take the place of the dollar," he said. "Luckily, both the Russians and the Chinese told the Americans and the British to go pound sand. They were not willing to do this."

The idea that the Western financial oligarchs are aiming to dump the U.S. dollar is in line with recent reportssuspiciously well connected to the upper echelons of the U.S. Treasury) actually took up positions to short the housing market right before the crash. Although a pre-meditated attempt to bring about a financial collapse would appear not to be in the financial oligarch's self-interest, it makes perfect sense when one considers this as a problem-reaction-solution operation of creating a problem in order to get the public to support a pre-determined solution. In this case, the endgame has always been to use a financial collapse to usher in a New World Order. Now, exactly as precicted, everyone from Kissinger to Soros is using the economic collapse to call for a new financial order of greater international (read: unelected, undemocratic and unaccountable) control over world financial markets. Indeed, just as the G20 was wrapping up, talking heads like Damon Vickers were starting to insert talking points about a new global currency and a "New World Order" onto CNBC. Although it is good news that the dumping of the dollar failed to gain traction at this meeting, it by no means insures that this disastrous move will not continue to be pursued by the influential globalist financiers. that Goldman Sachs (whose members are

On a positive note, Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty made a show of standing up for the people of the planet by noting that "the recent public policy of privatizing profits and socializing losses is unacceptable to taxpayers," to which someone responded "Do you think they have noticed?" The response provoked laughter from the assembled oligarchs. Mr. Estulin has a message for the G20 oligarchs: "Gentlemen of the G20, in case you're wondering: Yes, we the great unwashed have definitely noticed." FULL STORY

Is it Torture When an American Veteran is Homeless?

Los Angeles National Veterans "Park", Chained gates of the National Veterans Home

Do Americans torture, or do we not! That’s the big question in the ongoing debate regarding a waterboarding technique used by the military and CIA to interrogate a few suspected terrorists in order to obtain information that could prevent any future attacks on the United States.

This back and forth battle of partisan politics has itself become torturous. As a result, everyone seems to have their own head under water because nobody is asking the most important question of the day: Is it torture when an American Veteran is Homeless? The answer is unequivocal: Absolutely!

So why isn’t this the paramount issue and concern of every American that appreciates his or her own freedom and safety? And why isn’t our government protecting and defending those who have protected and defended America’s citizenry instead of making it a priority of defending and protecting thug terrorists that would like to kill every American citizen?

It’s because Americans do not torture and being a homeless Veteran is really not torture, right? After all, we would never inflict torture on anyone because we’re just too good to ever ill-treat, abuse or mistreat anyone. That’s what Third World and barbaric countries do, but never Americans!

Is this torture? A homeless Veteran sleeps during the day outside the chained gates of the National Veterans Home because he must remain awake during the night for his own safety.

More importantly, America must show the world that we’re above all that and in order to prove it, we’ll even coddle and pamper a few brutal terrorists because they’ve purportedly been treated unkindly through aggressive interrogation, kept in isolation, and deprived of sleep at their residency on the tropical coast of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

President Obama has called the interrogation techniques used on a few suspected terrorists to gain information as “a dark and painful chapter in our history.”

In the Meantime …

Meanwhile, the Department of Veterans Affairs has declared that about one-third of the adult homeless population have served their country in the Armed Services. Current population estimates suggest that about 154,000 veterans (male and female) are homeless on any given night and perhaps twice as many experience homelessness at some point during the course of a year. Many other veterans are considered near homeless or at risk because of their poverty, lack of support from family and friends, and dismal living conditions in cheap hotels or in overcrowded or substandard housing.

Think about it, more than 150,000 of America’s Veterans are without shelter and hungry and each must fend for his or her own safety on the dangerous and crime-ridden streets of America.

Who Really Cares?

How many of these homeless Veterans have been subjected to coercive and aggressive interrogation by street criminals as to how much money they have and would they like to voluntarily part with a few begged coins in exchange for their own lives? How many have been robbed of a sandwich or beaten into submission for sexual favors, maimed for life, or actually killed? How more isolated could an individual be than homeless, alone, and sleeping with one eye open for your own safety. Who knows and who really cares, right?

We know for a fact that our government and the so-called “human rights police” certainly do not care or they would’ve done something about this torturous treatment a long time ago. And why should government and human rights organizations care about a couple hundred thousand homeless Veterans living in crime-infested squalor when all of their time and energy is spent on protecting the safety, treatment and quality of living conditions for a couple hundred al-Qaeda terrorists who even their own countries do not want returned into their society?

A Clueless Nation

The mantra of “Americans do not torture” is getting worn out. But do America really torture? Yes, we do! And so long as there’s one homeless Veteran living on the outside of our own society here on American soil, we are all guilty as charged!

But what the heck, they’re just “vets,” a bunch of second-class citizens and prospective “domestic terrorists” as declared by our Department of Homeland Security. Just ignore the problem and it will go away.

Is this torture? Two Veterans sleep alongside the multi-million dollar fence outside the Veterans Home during the day, the safest time for them to sleep.

The senseless debate that’s taking place right now is the most disgraceful period in American history and it’s time to issue a cease-fire on both sides of the political spectrum about what is torture and what is not.

Americans have become clueless as to what real torture is and we all need to face reality and demand that our homeless Veterans be protected and cared for with the same fervor as those whom they once fought against.

A Place Called “Home”

Here in Los Angeles there are an estimated 20,000 homeless Veterans. This is the largest VA in the nation and the land it sits upon was exclusively deeded in 1888 “to be permanently maintained as a National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers.”

And the Home is backed up by an 1887 Act of Congress, which specifically stipulates: “That all honorably discharged soldiers and sailors who served in the regular and volunteer forces of the United States, and who are disabled by disease, wounds, or otherwise, and who have no adequate means of support, and by reason of such disability are incapable of earning their living, shall be entitled to be admitted to said home for disabled volunteer soldiers.”

THE SOUTH AMERICAN COUNTRY OF CHILE WOKE UP TO THE INSANITY OF MAKING HUMANS INGEST FLUORIDE BACK IN THE 70'S
WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY?

VOXY.co.nz | Fluoridation Increases Infant Death Rates

Fluoridation causes more premature births, one of the top causes of infant death in the USA. It poses the greatest risk to poor non-white mothers and babies. This is the finding State University of New York researchers from data spanning 1993 to 2002.

Research in Chile in the 1970s also showed fluoridation caused an increase in infant death rates. Chile stopped fluoridation as a result.

A baby born at least 3 weeks early is classified as premature - accounting for about 12 percent of US births.

To ensure fluoridation was the culprit, and not some other factor, the researchers recorded fluoridation residence status (under or over 1 ppm) and adjusted for age, race/ethnicity, neighborhood poverty level, hypertension and diabetes.

The data came from the NY Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System, which collects comprehensive information on patient characteristics and treatment history. The research was conducted within the university's Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health.

"For the Ministry of Health to continue promoting fluoridation when there is this kind of evidence that it is real health risk is inexcusable" says Mark Atkin, Fluoride Action Network (NZ)'s co-representative on the Fluoridation-free NZ Coalition, adding "Only a few months ago we had further confirmation that fluoridation increases teenage male bone cancer rates. As has been said before, those who continue to promote fluoridation do so at the risk of future legal action against them."

South African News | Barack Obama has shares in Baxter

The President of the United States, Barack Obama has shares in Baxter, the company many say is responsible for the h1n1 swine flu pandemic. Back 2005 Barack Obama bought $50,000 worth of stock in two companies.

Right after he bought the shares also in 2005 Barack Obama (still a senator at that time) introduced the first comprehensive bill to address the threat of avian influenza pandemic. AVIAN Act (S. 969)

Then it makes it even more interesting that over $60 million dollars was awarded for a vaccine against the bird flu (2007) that at the time did not mutate till afterwards.

The guy sure knows his planning, I guess that is change you can believe in. From investor to President.

RIAN.ru | Medvedev says Russia to step up navy presence in world's oceans

SINGAPORE, November 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russia plans to increase its naval presence in the world's oceans, President Dmitry Medvedev said on board a Russian warship during an official visit to Singapore on Monday.

Russia announced in 2007 that its Navy had resumed and would build up a constant presence throughout the world's oceans. Once one the world's most powerful forces, the Russian Navy now has few ships regularly deployed on the open seas.

Asked by the crew of the Varyag cruiser if Russia's presence would be stepped up further, Medvedev said: "Yes, this is planned."

Moscow has recently contributed warships to international efforts to combat Somali pirates. A flotilla of Russian warships also participated in exercises with India and Venezuela last year.

Last year's tour of the Mediterranean, Caribbean, South Atlantic and the Indian Oceans by a flotilla led by the heavy missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky (Peter the Great) was lauded by many in Russia as the country's naval reappearance on a global scale and criticized in the West as echoing the Cold War-era.

After making several port calls and engaging in antipiracy operations off Somalia, the Pyotr Veliky arrived in Venezuela in late November, which coincided with Medvedev's state visit to the Latin American state. The president visited the ship along with his Venezuelan counterpart, Hugo Chavez.

In September 2008, Russia was reported to be in talks with Syria on turning the Tartus port into a permanent Middle East base for Russian warships.

Medvedev said Russia needs an effective navy to be able to send ships to take part in international missions.

"Our objective at the moment is to invest more considerable funds in the Navy. Decisions have been made, warships will be purchased under a state armaments program, certain steps will be made next year," Medvedev said.

He also said the current economic slump would have an insignificant effect on arms purchases for the Army and Navy.

Cost of Keeping One U.S. Soldier in Afghanistan Per Year: One Million Dollars

November 15th, 2009

The U.S. doesn’t have to “win” the war for a handful of diabolical corporations to make a killing. The trick is to keep the war going for as long as possible.

And, day after day, the shakedown continues.

Bogus contracts, drugs and energy. That’s all, folks.

Plus a little change we can believe in.

Via: New York Times:

While President Obama’s decision about sending more troops to Afghanistan is primarily a military one, it also has substantial budget implications that are adding pressure to limit the commitment, senior administration officials say.

The latest internal government estimates place the cost of adding 40,000 American troops and sharply expanding the Afghan security forces, as favored by Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, the top American and allied commander in Afghanistan, at $40 billion to $54 billion a year, the officials said.

Even if fewer troops are sent, or their mission is modified, the rough formula used by the White House, of about $1 million per soldier a year, appears almost constant.

So even if Mr. Obama opts for a lower troop commitment, Afghanistan’s new costs could wash out the projected $26 billion expected to be saved in 2010 from withdrawing troops from Iraq. And the overall military budget could rise to as much as $734 billion, or 10 percent more than the peak of $667 billion under the Bush administration.

Such an escalation in military spending would be a politically volatile issue for Mr. Obama at a time when the government budget deficit is soaring, the economy is weak and he is trying to pass a costly health care plan. FULL STORY

Bloomberg.com | China’s New Missile May Create a ‘No-Go Zone’ for U.S. Fleet

Nov. 17 (Bloomberg) -- China’s military is close to fielding the world’s first anti-ship ballistic missile, according to U.S. Navy intelligence.

The missile, with a range of almost 900 miles (1,500 kilometers), would be fired from mobile, land-based launchers and is “specifically designed to defeat U.S. carrier strike groups,” the Office of Naval Intelligence reported.

Five of the U.S. Navy’s 11 carriers are based in the Pacific and operate freely in international waters near China. Their mission includes defending Taiwan should China seek to exercise by force its claim to the island democracy, which it considers a breakaway province.

The missile could turn this region into a “no-go zone” for U.S. carriers, said Andrew Krepinevich, president of the Center for Strategic and Budget Assessments in Washington. FULL STORY

THE 800 POUND GORILLA IN THE ROOM THAT NO ONE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT - DERIVATIVES

From a Source in Moscow-November 16, 2009

Russian trade ministry officials are reporting to Prime Minister Putin today that China is preparing to plunge the United States and European Union into the “dustbin of history” as major World economic powers over their, the West’s, deliberate collapsing of the present Global economic system in order to install their long sought after New World Order.

China’s intent to carry out on their threat, these reports say, began this past week when, as perhaps best stated by one American financial analyst, China told the West to go “straight to hell” when the Chinese stated they would deliberately default on Trillions-of dollars in US backed debt security instruments called OTC because they were fraudulently created by Western bankers and as such are now considered an “act of war”.

DERIVATIVES HISTORY - CHINA IS A COUNTRY WITH A LONG MEMORY!

My Dear Friends,

China tells the Wall Street OTC derivative manufacturers and distributors to go straight to hell.

China has invoked a "Stop Loss" on these fraud ridden instruments.

If you create a specific performance contract that you know under even the slightest pressure cannot perform, you have committed fraud.

My English bull dog Mia, bless her soul, figured out the non-performance characteristics of these financial WMDs.

This will have a MAJOR impact on the sociopath US manufacturers and distributors of OTC derivatives like CDSs that struck the world over with these weapons of mass financial destruction.

This could roll the financial world one more time.

Doing the right thing is never easy. Doing the right thing takes character and courage.

The Chinese are doing exactly the right thing and exactly what the West should have done years ago when long term capital flopped.

Now the rest of the BRIC nations will follow suit.

China’s actions here are another reason why China is headed for the largest economy on the planet.

While the West enriches the creators of this disaster, China herein tells them, to go straight to hell, and that they will not get their money to enrich themselves more. China has invoked a "Stop Loss."

Here is an example of how China will act with regards to the dollar late this fall. You can take that to the bank if you can find a solvent one in the USA, GB or Euroland.

The Wall Street types who are talking heads surmise that China thinks and will act like the Wall Street Weenies. They are so very WRONG.

Screw with China and you will get bitten in the ass by a real dragon. China leads the BRICs.

This will have a MAJOR impact on the sociopath USA manufacturers and distributors of OTC derivatives that struck the world over with these weapons of mass financial destruction, enriching themselves in the process by many trillions.

If China’s banks were the losers on these instruments then the winners, now not getting paid, are the sociopath USA manufacturers and distributors of OTC derivatives. These instruments were not created between Chinese banks, but made and packaged primarily in the good old US of A. Think it out. This is a stop loss for the Chinese.

I was correct 10 years ago when people denigrated me. I am correct on the price of gold as people still denigrate me.

I will have the last word with all these jealous fools.

Respectfully yours,
Jim

China warns banks on OTC hedge defaults -report
Sat Aug 29, 2009 9:47am IST

BEIJING, Aug 29 (Reuters) – Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) may unilaterally terminate derivative contracts with six foreign banks that provide over-the-counter commodity hedging services, a leading financial magazine said.

China’s SOE regulator, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), had told the financial institutions that SOEs reserved the right to default on contracts, Caijing magazine quoted an unnamed industry source as saying.

It did not name the banks or the firms in question, but said Keith Noyes, an official with the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, had confirmed he was aware of the letter to the banks. He declined to comment further to Caijing.

It also cited a SASAC official as saying that almost every SOE involved in foreign exchange or trade had some exposure to derivatives such as crude oil, non-ferrous metals, agricultural commodities, iron ore and coal, although only 31 SOEs were licensed to do so.

Nobody at SASAC was immediately available to comment on Saturday.

SASAC took over the job of overseeing SOEs’ derivatives trading from the securities regulator in February after several Chinese firms reported huge losses from derivatives, and quickly tightened the rules, ordering firms to quit risky contracts and report their positions on a quarterly basis.

UPDATE 1-Beijing’s derivative default stance rattles banks
Mon Aug 31, 2009 7:42am EDT
By Eadie Chen and Chen Aizhu

BEIJING, Aug 31 (Reuters) – A report that Chinese state-owned companies will be allowed to walk away from loss-making commodity derivative trades provoked anger and dismay among investment bankers on Monday as they feared it may set a damaging precedent.

The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the regulator and nominal shareholder for state-owned enterprises (SOEs), told six foreign banks that SOEs reserved the right to default on contracts, Caijing magazine quoted an unnamed industry source as saying in an article published on Saturday.

While the details of the report could not be confirmed, it was Monday’s hot topic in financial circles from Shanghai to Singapore as commodity marketers feared that companies holding underwater price hedges could simply renege on the deals, costing banks millions of dollars in profit.

The warning from SASAC follows a series of measures from Beijing this year to crack down on the sale of derivative products by foreign banks to Chinese enterprises, principally big consumers, who bought protection against higher prices last year only to watch the market collapse — leaving them with losses.

While many companies including top airlines have come clean on the losses, some analysts fear another wave may follow.

Jim Sinclair’s Commentary

China will not Federally fund the OTC derivative winners as the West has by making gift loans to the OTC derivatives losers to fund the non-Chinese OTC derivative winners.

Here comes the standard of "when yes means no." The pressure against doing this will be Titanic but then there are Titanic pressures everywhere to not rock the boat that is rocking anyway.

China targets some, not all, derivative deals: source
Tue Sep 1, 2009 4:52am EDT

BEIJING (Reuters) – A reported warning over defaults on derivatives deals with state-owned Chinese corporates was meant to address specific "problematic" contracts, not the industry as a whole, a government source told Reuters on Tuesday.

The comments appeared to play down concerns of widespread defaults on over-the-counter hedging deals, which had been raised by a weekend report that the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission had told six foreign banks that state firms reserved the right to default on OTC contracts.

The report on Saturday in the Caijing financial magazine, quoting an unnamed industry source, triggered anger and dismay among investment banks, and a momentary panic over the possibility of defaults on commodity imports or heavy position unwinding, although bankers said both were unlikely.

On Tuesday, Beijing-based officials and analysts said that SASAC, the regulator and nominal shareholder for state-owned enterprises (SOEs), appeared to be stepping up the pressure on foreign banks to allow corporates to exit specific deals that may have been too complex for the companies to understand.

"The move is not meant to cover a comprehensive range of businesses and companies. It’s mainly to deal with some problematic contracts that were signed before, especially those that might have insufficient information disclosure or two parties have disputes over certain details," a government official with knowledge of the issue told Reuters.

THE CORRUPT UNITED NATIONS THAT SITS IN NEW YORK

Cargill and Agro-Cartels Agenda For Globalization and Famine; LaRouche Responds

November 16, 2009 (LPAC)—This week's official pre-meetings for the Nov. 16-18 World Food Security Summit convened in Rome by the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization, tell in advance why the intended Declaration (a draft is circulating) is a call for more globalization and famine, in the false name of combatting hunger!

Lyndon LaRouche said, "It's a fraud! It's a plan to decrease the world's population by two-thirds. It's a desperate effort to keep control for the moment. It's bad bullshit,— that's the only way to describe it. Don't give it any credibility. They are who they are, out for genocide. Don't get excited about it; it's not going to work. A different trend is happening in the world; at this time, the power of London is about to evaporate. London and its friends are about to lose their power."

On Nov. 12-13, FAO Director Jacques Diouf and other FAO officials met with top execs of major agro-cartel companies now dominating world food, farming, and processing, at a forum, "Private Sector Actions to Reduce Food Insecurity," including Paul Naar, Vice President of Cargill; David Blanchard, Senior V.P. of Unilever; Henry Rieux, Bunge, Europe; Dean Oestreich, Chairman of Pioneer Hi-Bred International (DuPont), the world's largest seed company; Sean de Cleene, Vice President, Yara Fertilizer, the world's largest; and many others. Their common theme, as stated in the title of one of the panels, is: "Sustainable Food Value Chains," which is globaloney-talk meaning: the cartels—not governments, not farmers, not citizens—make the decisions from farm to table, on who farms, who eats, and who doesn't.

This year a new entity was formed called the Global Food Initiative, by four leaders of the world food cartel: Monsanto, ADM, DuPont (Pioneer), and John Deere. The purpose of the association is to promote still more globalization and private control over food seeds, processing, farm inputs, trade, and final distribution.

On Nov. 2-3 in London, this goal was discussed at a conference at the Royal Institute for International Affairs (RIIA, or Chatham House), "Food Security 2009—Achieving Long-Term Solutions."

On Monday, the FAO Summit proper convenes, with an expected attendance of several dozens heads of state, and a keynote by Pope Benedict XVI. As the FAO itself documents, at least 1.02 billion people—one sixth of the human race, is going hungry now. Helga Zepp-LaRouche in 2008 led a world drive for the June 2008 FAO World Food Summit to launch measures to double world food production at the earliest possible time. This can be done through a physical economic mobilization possible under a new credit system, as Lyndon LaRouche calls for, by a "Four Powers" collaboration of Russia, China, India, and the United States.

In opposition to this perspective, the draft 41-point Summit Declaration calls for more globalization, and public/private partnerships in the name of the "right to food."

In the past, these TiO2 nanoparticles have been considered non-toxic in that they do not incite a chemical reaction. Instead, it is surface interactions that the nanoparticles have within their environment- in this case inside a mouse - that is causing the genetic damage, Schiestl said. They wander throughout the body causing oxidative stress, which can lead to .

Have sensitive skin that gets irritated by sunscreens? Avoid so-called “chemical blockers” containing ingredients like Mexoryl, Parsol 1789, Helioplex, PABA and Oxybenzone, and instead pick a “physical blocker” sunscreen that relies on titanium dioxide or, even better, zinc oxide. Not only are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide effective against both UVA and UVB rays without irritating skin, they’re also considered safer by green watchgroups like the Skin Deep Cosmetics Database.

I wonder if Tuesday - my usual busy news day - will be busier with incoming news than today! Am believing that news is either about CORRUPTION, GREED or an attempt to DENY, COVER-UP CORRUPTION AND GREED. Even the weather and climate is being used by such as Gore and other elitists via the Copenhagen Tready and Cap and Trade - to get their hot little fingers on more money at the expense of the global population they hold NO RESPECT for - being we're useless eaters in their sick minds - and needing to be eliminated from the planet.

I hate to say, I sincerely doubt if enough Americans will awaken from the mind control that permeates our culture - conditioned to behave like dependent children in some LaLaLand. The Global Elites are taking down our country - something they have been working on for decades. Where is our industrial base? Why have illegals from all over the globe swarmed in with no problems? We are to have an economy like Mexico and other 3rd world countries - and, it is now time to build up the middle class in Asia - the NEW consumers for multinational corporations. Obama is but the puppet to be around when we go down - he's been groomed. Our politicians are all sold out to multinational corporations... via lobbyists. What the heck - BANANA REPUBLIC HERE WE COME - AND THERE ARE UN TROOPS (foreign troops have no problem firing on Americans) ON OUR SOIL TO ASSIST NORTHCOM - TO MAKE SURE THOSE UNHAPPY DON'T GET OUT OF CONTROL.

We do live in historic times - the FALL OF THE EMPIRE - the sad part given our MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX the most destructive of all empires in history! What can you say?
