Just came in from a News Update reader - made me actually chuckle - thank you!

Summer's almost here ...we can now see the deer moving around.
Yep, won't be long.

I've been looking around today for my sense of humor - think I misplaced it. I don't know why a woman that is now pushing 60 years old even reads news having having to do with some of the subject areas I cover in a days time.

I listened to Derry Brownfield this morning - the 70 plus year old guy out of Missouri - talking about how our corrupt government is getting their greedy hands on farm land by means of using the term 'premises' -and 'premises ID' and this being interconnected with collateral 'promised' to the Chinese for them eating our nations debt. The Chinese not financing the United States out of their good will - they want real estate.

Throw in hearing about Forbes naming Monsanto as the company of year - a company that is destroying the food chain on this planet. We have a federal government throwing trillions of $dollars to the banksters ... what we are seeing is big corporate interests getting away with most anything they want.

And, False Flags works and definitely sells ... be afraid, be very very afraid ... now today we have NORAD involved in another 'potential terrorist' incident. But then, we have the military-industrial-banking complex to feed ... the 'global security industry' the new big business on the planet.

And, if you are not afraid of terrorists .. we have our 'American scientists' providing the following news article:

Then there are the crimes in my own neighborhood:

New crime has been reported in your area:

Description:Agency:
SENT CASH TO CLAIM $6.5 MILLION PRIZE; JAMAICA SCAM CASHLincoln PD, NE
UNK PRS TOOK BEER FROM COOLER/RAN OUT OF STORE W/O PAYING TWO EIGHTEEN PACKS/BUD LIGHT 12 OZLincoln PD, NE

And, the real American eye-catching news:

Sam's Club to sell its own brand of vodka

POLL: France best place to live in world; USA drops to #7...

2009: The Year of the Great Vampire Squid

Catherine Austin Fitts

Solari.com
January 6, 2010

The world’s most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money.

- Matt Tabbi, “Inside the Great American Bubble Machine

The Great Vampire Squid

For years, it was hard for many of us to fathom the psychopathic nature of our financial elites, or to expand the meaning of Matt Tabbi’s marvelous description of Goldman Sachs, the great vampire squid. Squid seems a fitting name for the financial cartel that drives what I have traditionally called the Tapeworm.

There were some who saw the danger immediately and tried to warn us, like Sir James Goldsmith. There were some, like myself, who tried to prevent the housing bubble and find alternatives to investing our life savings in it.

While those efforts did not stop the squid, they certainly made it clear that the squid take down of the planet was, indeed, part of a plan. That’s all documented now.

The Squid Shifts the Money

I often tell the story of my meeting with a group of pension fund leaders in 1997 in which the President of the CalPERs pension fund— the largest in the country—said, “You don’t understand. It’s too late. They have given up on the country. They are moving all the money out in the fall (of 1997). They are moving it to Asia.”

Sure enough, in the fall of 1997 trillions of dollars began to shift out of North America and into the emerging markets, including Asia and China. This included over $4 trillion that went missing from the US government, which I have referred to for years as “the missing money.”

Doom and Gloom, British-Style…

January 6th, 2010

GoldSeek.com

Explaining why the rampaging bear rally of 2009 is likely to fizzle this year, British journalist Ambrose Evans-Pritchard packs quite an analytical wallop into this sentence: “The surplus regions (China, Japan, Germania, Gulf ) have not increased demand enough to compensate for belt-tightening in the deficit bloc (Anglo-sphere, Club Med, East Europe), and fiscal adrenalin is already fading in Europe.” There are other yellow flags out as well, most significantly a contraction of M3 money in the U.S. and Europe, and a looming bond crisis in Japan.

MarketWatch Calls Out Fed To Disprove It Is Manipulating Index Futures

January 6th, 2010

ZeroHedge.com

A week ago we presented the observations of TrimTabs’ Charles Biderman, who laid out a logical case for why there is significant circumstantial evidence that the Fed is manipulating markets by purchasing index futures in the aftermarket: “One way to manipulate the stock market would be for the Fed or the Treasury to buy $20 billion, plus or minus, of S&P 500 stock futures each month for a year. Depending on margin levels, $20 billion per month would translate into at least $100 billion in notional buying power…This type of intervention could explain some of the unusual market action in recent months, with stock prices grinding higher on low volume even as companies sold huge amounts of new shares and retail investors stayed on the sidelines. For example, Tyler Durden of ZeroHedge has pointed out that virtually all of the market’s upside since mid-September has come from after-hours S&P 500 futures activity.” Today MarketWatch has an open appeal to the Fed to put Biderman’s allegation to rest by publicly disproving that it is involved in any direct market manipulation. “Biderman’s accusation of PPT market manipulation is another argument in favor of a complete public audit of the Fed’s books…there is a widespread belief that the PPT does manipulate stock prices on a daily basis to enrich its pals and screw individual investors. It would be useful to prove them. ” We couldn’t agree more.

There is overwhelming, undeniable evidence that the world will run out of food next year. When this happens, the resulting triple digit food inflation will lead panicking central banks around the world to dump their foreign reserves to appreciate their currencies and lower the cost of food imports, causing the collapse of the dollar, the treasury market, derivative markets, and the global financial system. The US will experience economic disintegration.

Nebraska State Patrol Short Staffed After Budget Cuts

The state patrol isn't hiring for the second year in a row.

According to the colonel, troopers are taking longer to respond to calls. The unprecedented state budget shortfall has forced the Patrol into a virtual hiring freeze.

Trooper Jeff Boston is used to answering the call of duty. He's been with the Nebraska State Patrol for 22 years.

The State Patrol is also coming to the rescue of the state budget. Last year, the governor asked several agencies, including the Patrol, to trim a total of $154 million in expenses. Still, employees like Trooper Boston get to stay on the job.

Colonel Bryan Tuma, Nebraska State Patrol, said, "Up to this point, we've seen no layoffs. We're not doing furloughs."

Instead, Tuma decided to cancel the training camp for new recruits for a second year in a row. It's essentially a hiring freeze meaning vacancies created by troopers who retire or resign won't get refilled anytime soon.

Currently, there are 479 sworn troopers statewide. Compare that to 525 back in 2004. Tuma said this is the lowest number of employees the Patrol has seen since the early 80s, despite a population increase of more than 200 thousand. Yet, he's says public safety isn't suffering.

"We are constantly looking at where we have our officers assigned," explained Tuma. "That may mean if we have reductions in one area of the agency we may have to shift some people and reassign them to other areas."

But, there's hope for hiring in 2010. Tuma said it all depends on whether the May forecasting board shows an increase in state revenues.

Tuma said, "We may not be able to have a large camp, but we may be able to have the opportunity to fill some of those vacancies. We'll just have to wait and see.

Trooper Jeff Boston, Nebraska State Patrol, said, "It's a great job to be in. It's a tough job. It's very stressful at times and it's not a job for everybody. But, it is a good rewarding job

The one area in which the colonel says the patrol is falling behind is investigative services. Tuma said the fact that they're short staffed means investigators are having to take on a bigger case load, which in turn means cases are taking longer to close.

Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago?

January 6, 2010

On my first day back at work after vacation, the political news from Washington hit me like a cold dead fish in the face:

Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago?

That's enough to freeze the bowels of every voter in the land.

"Emanuel, the most political animal in this town ... is said to have told people that the ( White House) chief of staff role is an 18-month job and that he is considering a run for mayor of Chicago," wrote columnist Sally Quinn in the Washington Post on Tuesday.

With Hollywood continuing to suck up to the Obama administration, imagine the benefits of a Rahmsian mayoral campaign. HBO's "Entourage" could film here. The lead character, a charismatic Hollywood agent named Ari, is based on Rahm's brother, Ari.

Just think of the scenes at Cafe Bionda and Tavern on Rush, and the parts for Rahm's Chicago buddies, the entourage he'll need to run things if he's mayor. State Sen. Jimmy DeLeo (D-How You Doin?) could play Turtle and handle the parties. Corrupt former city water boss Donald Tomczak, who'll be released from federal prison this year, would thrill "Entourage" fans in the role of Donny Drama.

The White House could have thrown cold water on the idea. Instead, a White House source told the Tribune that "Rahm is 100 percent focused on the job at hand -- serving President Obama as his chief of staff."

From such non-denial denials, a demonic campaign may yet be hatched. If so, I might get down on my hands and knees and beg Mayor Richard Daley to stay. This would frighten the mayor and quite possibly unhinge him -- permanently. READ MORE ...

Cloud vortices off Cheju Do, South Korea

Credit: Jeff Schmaltz; MODIS team; NASA , Posted on: Wednesday, 6 January 2010, 07:11 CST

The MODIS on the Aqua satellite captured this image of von Karmann cloud vortices off the coast of Cheju Do on December 26, 2009. Cheju Do is an island off the southwest coast of South Korea - it's nearly invisible here beneath the cloud cover.

The vortices are being formed by wind-driven clouds interacting with the highest point of the island, the 6400 foot Mt. Halla. The wind causes the clouds to flow around in the large, spinning eddies you see here. This is a fairly common occurrence for Cheju Do.

SOLAR ACTIVITY: Yesterday, January 5th, something exploded on the back side of the sun and hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) into space.

The source of the blast was probably one of several regions currently located behind the sun's eastern limb. NASA's STEREO-B spacecraft is monitoring three old sunspots there--AR1035, AR1036 and AR1038. The emergent latitude of the CME best matches that of AR1036, which will turn to face Earth in a few days

SAN JOSE, January 6, 2010 (AFP) - Costa Rica's Turrialba volcano erupted Tuesday, spewing ash and rocks and forcing 21 people in its vicinity to evacuate their homes, the Volcano and Seismology Observatory said.

"In the afternoon we had a small eruption of the volcano with pyroclastic material, chiefly ash blown by the wind," observatory director Juan Segura told AFP.

The last time the 3,328-meter (10,918-foot) volcano erupted was in 2007, he added.

Authorities issued an alert for the area surrounding the volcano, located 40 kilometers (25 miles) east of San Jose, and said 21 people were evacuated.

Segura said that a team of vulcanologists would climb to the top of the volcano early Wednesday "to make an on-site assessment" of the volcano.

The last major eruption of the Turrialba volcano was in 1856. It has had at least five major explosive eruptions in the last 3,500 years.
