Wednesday Night News Update | December 2, 2009

It's Wednesday night - already - when it gets dark by 5:30 pm! Found out the Sun shot out a CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) this early morning - perhaps explaining the magnetic reversal shown by our Magnetosphere.

Remember - CMEs hold the potentiality of knocking down not only satellites, but also the electrical grid.

Finally got to reading the Local Lincoln news:

Records confirm it: A warm November

No matter how you measure it, November was very warm in Lincoln. By one comparison, it was even warmer than October.

Lincoln's natural gas provider is asking the Nebraska Public Service Commission for a 6.5 percent rate increase next year.

The average Black Hills Energy monthly bill would increase by about $5.48 for residential customers and $2.65 for commercial customers.

The increases would take effect March 1 on an interim basis. If the PSC approves final rates lower than interim rates, customers will receive a refund with interest.

I've received 'notice-takedown' warnings - and why I don't even go to some websites for news. Why I also say the time is coming soon I will be deciding to give up on the Internet.

Treaties - and, Americans are handed Tiger Woods stories and other childishness when we are being taken over by a tyrannical government.

WASHINGTON — Top White House science officials defended the validity of global warming research against repeated Republican attacks Wednesday that cited leaked e-mails from some climate researchers.

The e-mails from a British university's climate center were obtained by computer hackers and released last month. Climate change skeptics contend the messages reveal that researchers manipulated and suppressed data and stifled dissent.

At a Capitol Hill hearing, the president's science adviser and the chief of the agency in charge of climate research said the e-mails did nothing to undermine scientific consensus on climate change. Some Republicans said they showed a "culture of corruption" among scientists.

Hunger, Depression, Domestic Violence Widespread as Economic Impact Worsens

When I hear an advertisement on KFAB out of Omaha, Nebraska about a 3 WEEK supply of food, water, medicines, etc ... NOT merely a 3 DAY ... my ears perk up! Are Happy State Nebraskans waking up?

Preparing 3 weeks of food not needing refrigeration - and most Americans can't tell you want they plan on eating for their main meal tomorrow ... other than where they may want to go out to eat tonight.

I recall growing up and my Mother would go grocery shopping for a family of 6 only once a week. That was not in any way unusual - in those times before convenience stores on every corner.

SELF-RELIANCE

AS THEY SAY: DO YOU WANT TO BE STANDING IN A FEMA LINE FOR FOOD?

It is PAST TIME that Americans start viewing FOOD as more than just something you have to run to the store to get.

  • Knowing that if something happened to you financially, you have a little reserve of food for your family.
  • You won’t be enticed to go out to eat as often, because you have a ready list of meals available to cook. This will save you money!
  • You will be better organized. You won’t feel the pressure that comes from not being prepared.
  • You will save money - you won’t have to run to the grocery store to buy things that you forgot!
  • Often times, if I plan a meal - it is a lot healthier than throwing something together. You have better control giving your family nutritious meals.

t's one of those numbers that's so unbelievable you have to actually think about it for a while...

Within the next 12 months, the U.S. Treasury will have to refinance $2 trillion in short-term debt. And that's not counting any additional deficit spending, which is estimated to be around $1.5 trillion.

Put the two numbers together. Then ask yourself, how in the world can the Treasury borrow $3.5 trillion in only one year? That's an amount equal to nearly 30% of our entire GDP. And we're the world's biggest economy. Where will the money come from? .....

Limbaugh Admits the Obvious: Osama bin Laden is Dead

December 1, 2009

Rush Limbaugh admits he believes Osama bin Laden is dead on todays show – plus Thom Hartmann DRG interview – so what is the mission in AFPAKistan?

Given: The news today that our peaceful President Obama is sending a bunch more troops to AFPAKistan to die for nothing as in the following article:

“Obama will try to sell a skeptical public on his bigger, costlier war plan Tuesday by coupling the large new troop infusion with an emphasis on stepped-up training for Afghan forces that he says will allow the U.S. to leave.

Obama formally ends a 92-day review of the war in Afghanistan Tuesday night with a nationally broadcast address in which he will lay out his revamped strategy from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. He began rolling out his decision Sunday night, informing key administration officials, military advisers and foreign allies in a series of private meetings and phone calls that stretched into Monday.”

As the realization dawned on me that yes, indeed, we really are going to continue this AFPAK war based on falsehoods – I decided to take a drive and listen to what the pundits on AM radio had to say. My expectations – the leftys would come up with all kinds of excuses to explain why the President of Peace is morphing into just another Wager of War. The righties would ignore the fact that they started this loser of a war and find ways to pin it on the Democrats. But now – Obama has no way out – instead of ending it – he’s getting right in line making the right-wing propaganda stick. Although the following is disorganized – it matches the jumble of memories as I flipped through the various stations – left and right wing. ....

POLICE STATE USA

Law Enforcement Magazine Argues for Counterinsurgency Against Americans

Picture Link: (pdf file) Urban Combat in US Streets

December 1, 2009 @ 6:43 pm
In an article publishedin the February, 2010, issue of Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement (a print magazine not available online), Donald J. Mihalek argues that suspected criminals in the United States should be treated the same way “insurgents” are in Iraq.

“With violent crime increasing in many American cities,” writes Mihalek, “it is easy to think of criminals as an ‘insurgency’…. This growing insurgent behavior includes shootings of civilians, a growing trend of gang violence and an increase in narcotics related kidnapping. The trends point to a need for a renewed strategy to fight violent crime.”

Mihalek suggests cops borrow from General David Petraeus, who formulated an eight point counterinsurgency plan to deal with elements in Iraq opposed to the occupation of their country. Petraeus’ FM 3-24 is a final draft on counterinsurgency and spans nearly 250 pages.

Petraeus’ COIN (the popular acronym for counterinsurgency) doctrine is an extension on the Pentagon’s “full spectrum dominance” as devised by the neocons prior to and during George W. Bush’s tenure in the White House. Full-spectrum dominance is a military concept whereby a joint military structure achieves control over all elements of the “battlespace” using land, air, maritime and space based assets.

“It’s important to recognize the most important overarching doctrinal concept that our Army, in particular, has adopted — the concept of ‘full spectrum operations.’ This concept holds that all military operations are some mix of offensive, defensive, and stability and support operations. In other words, you’ve always got to be thinking not just about the conventional forms of combat — offensive and defensive operations — but also about the stability and support component,” Petraeus told Foreign Policy, a a bimonthly magazine founded by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and subsequently purchased by The Washington Post Company.

In FM 3-24’s overview, Petraeus and his coauthor write that the Iraq COIN doctrine contains both new and old elements. Traditional COIN tactics used in the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaya, Northern Ireland, Algeria, and much of the third world include population control (relocation of the population), “oil spot” (concentration of counter-insurgent forces into an expanding, secured zone), population monitoring (checkpoints and national identity cards), and cordon and search.

The U.S. COIN doctrine includes psychological warfare (planned use of propaganda and other psychological actions) and information warfare (spreading of propaganda or disinformation to demoralize the enemy and the public). Psychological and information warfare are currently used against the American public (for instance, the US Army 4th Psychological Operations Group was active at both NPR and CNN, while the CIA’s Operation Mockingbird compromised a large segment of the corporate media beginning in the early 1950s).

For COIN to work domestically, the United States will need to be turned into a police state under military occupation. Think Fallujah and the so-called “Strategic Hamlets” of Vietnam. Think Gestapo, Stasi and secret police.

In Instruments of Statecraft: U.S. Guerilla Warfare, Counterinsurgency, and Counterterrorism, 1940-1990, Michael McClintock writes about the change in COIN after World War II, particularly during the Kennedy administration. “As terror was seen as integral to guerrilla tactics, the counterguerrilla would apply counterterror; guerilla organization (e.g., recruitment surveillance) would be mimicked by counterorganization. Counterorganization, taken to its entail, could (and often did) entail placing hundreds of thousands of people under virtual totalitarian control. Which combined with the psychological warfare technique of ideological indoctrination, totalitarian potential could become reality.”

For COIN to work as Mihalek suggests the United States will necessarily become a totalitarian military dictatorship (a process already well underway, as evidenced by the the passage of the Patriot Act — now used against suspected criminals in lieu of actual terrorists — violations of Posse Comitatus, the increasing presence of military troops on the streets in collaboration with law enforcement, and the ever-encroaching high-tech surveillance grid intruding on many aspects of public and private life).

It should be noted that terrorism is part of the COIN doctrine and it was advocated by so-called terrorism experts and the defense establishment in the 1980s. Pentagon legal consultant William V. O’Brien, for instance, writing on special operations, has justified wholesale terrorism as a way to win “low-intensity” conflicts. O’Brien has advocated “exceptions to the normal moral and legal constraints” on military action. Murder and terrorism “may be presumed to be justified by a high and urgent necessity that may require sacrifice of other values such as some of the normal moral — legal constraints.”

“The suggestion that war crimes are acceptable in small doses, the selective ideal of special warfare, recalls the 1967 army manual’s warning that only selective counterterror is legitimate (’i.e. genocide is not an alternative’),” writes McClintock. “O’Brien’s warning not to go too far bears the same double message — that war crimes are to be expected but should not be excessive in number.”

Donald J. Mihalek argues that these horrendous and illegal techniques (although he does not mention them specifically) should be brought to the United States and practiced by police against “civilians” who may or may not be guilty of a crime.

That this disturbing article was published in a trade journal tailored for law enforcement is another indication that police around the country — increasingly federalized and militarized — are being indoctrinated to believe police work is related to the activities of the military.

CampFema.com | CNN Spreads Detention Camp Disinfo

December 1, 2009

Camp FEMA | In a new CNN report deeply rooted in Department of Homeland Security propaganda, CNN’s John Acosta says that the Federal government is not building detention camps around the country and that there is absolutely no proof of these kinds of activities. However, a highly controversial documentary released a couple of months ago offers the viewers almost 90 minutes of heart-stopping proof that plans for martial law and FEMA camps are indeed very real.

“Camp FEMA” has been called the most comprehensive documentary made on the topic of concentration camps in America. In the opening moments of the film, viewers are very quickly reminded that our government has turned to the use of detention camps to solve its problems before with the forced detention of over 120,000 Americans of Japanese decent in the early 1940’s. Forced labor, compulsory vaccinations, and mandatory “Americanization” classes top the list of atrocities committed against fellow citizens, on behalf of their Federal government.

The movie is kicked off by a single question, “Is it possible that history could repeat itself?”

Senate Select Committee Hearings and official FBI documents echo the rhetoric spewed forth by DHS and MIAC reports that transform patriot-minded third party supporters into dangerous potential terrorists of the homegrown variety. White House policies classify homeschoolers, gun rights activists and anti-abortionists as threats against the existing social and political order, by default creating an entire nation of radicals and revolutionaries – where everyone is a suspect… equally guilty until proven otherwise. History shows us what tyrannical governments have done with these people in the past.

CNN’s John Acosta also forgot to mention H.R. 645 introduced in early 2009 by Rep. Alcee Hastings, a Democrat from Florida convicted of bribery charges. In Camp FEMA, the audience learns the true meaning of “Emergency Centers.” The intent of the national emergency centers, according to Section 2 of HR 645, is to meet, “…for an extended period of time the housing, health, transportation, education, public works, humanitarian and other transition needs of a large number of individuals affected by an emergency or major disaster…” and can be used to advance “other purposes” not defined in the bill.

If CNN and Acosta needed more proof, they should check out Army Regulation 210-35, which was set up during the Reagan Presidency, and surfaced under the Clinton Administration. According to Alex Jones, who appears in Camp FEMA, there are now 12 camps completed and ready to house American citizens.

Also ignored in the CNN report is the participation of NORTHCOM in creating an advertisement, run earlier this year, on the Army National Guard’s own website.

For the first time in U.S. history, there has been an army unit assigned to The United States. NORTHCOM, according to an article in The Army Times

“…may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios…”

The ad for a “Corrections Officers and Internment/Resettlement Specialists” was removed in mid August. Camp FEMA points out that the ad was specific with regard to the needs of the National Guard; someone to train “as Internment Settlement Specialists, to control and supervise detainees.”

CNN has conveniently chosen not to address the legislations, the government reports or the list of terror suspects that the US government keeps adding to a database on a daily basis. “You don’t keep a list unless you intend to use it,” said William Lewis writer of Camp FEMA. Producer Gary Franchi added, “There are now over 1.2 millions names on the DHS watch list. How did we let this happen in the United States of America?” Why is CNN deliberately misleading the public about internment camps? You may find the answers in Camp FEMA.

UFO sightings: Suppose they are alien scientists?
Opinion piece by Lawrence Vincent drlvb@aol.com

I recall a warm autumn afternoon in 2006 driving with the top down in my sports car. The sun’s rays were soothing on my face as I zipped along an open bridge heading towards Gaston, NC. As I looked at the road ahead of me, I noticed something moving just above the tree line to the left of the bridge. What I saw was a round silverish spherical UFO about the size of a basketball with sparkles emitting from its rear and a thin wisp of smoke trailing behind it. It maintained a level flight path as it followed along the Roanoke River moving northward. Interestingly, it was not rotating or spinning as it smoothly traveled along at roughly 20 mph. Naturally, I was flabbergasted as I viewed the object for about 25 seconds as I continued across the bridge. To my amazement, I pushed the UFO experience to the back of my mind and journeyed on to my appointment.
Traveling east through Gaston, I turned northwards onto Interstate 95. As I merged into traffic, above me I could hear the faint rotors of a helicopter. I looked up and for the first time, I saw a black, unmarked helicopter with a man dressed in black fatigues hanging out of the door as the helicopter circled that section of I-95. That’s when it struck me that they were looking for the UFO I had just seen. Perhaps it was hiding from them using the tree line along the river as cover. Through my rearview mirror I could see the helicopter widening its circle, feverishly looking for something I could only presume was the flying object. That was my first encounter of visualizing something that I would have difficulty explaining. I could not determine whether it was manned or unmanned, but it did maintain level flight and was indeed following the river. What was it … a probe?

It has been proposed that within our galaxy exists a community of planets which are considering Earth as a possible galactic member. From this standpoint it seems reasonable to believe that they would be constantly observing us from both near and far. This could explain the large diversity of UFOs that have been described by numerous witnesses around the world. It would not be unreasonable to assume that each race of beings has and uses its own uniquely designed spacecraft when visiting Earth. This could possibly solve the riddle about why we see so many different spacecrafts in varying shapes and sizes. Each member planet likely wants to satisfy their own curiosity about Earth’s worthiness of induction into their exclusive club. Hence, it’s logical to conclude that we are dealing with alien scientists whose task is to explore all facets of our different cultures and technologies. They would likely conduct experiments that would define who we are as a species, both mentally and physiologically.

All of this might also explain the abduction phenomena reportedly occurring around the world for decades. I believe they need test subjects to establish baseline data about humans. Perhaps they might even use the scientific method as scientists do here on Earth making it a universal concept. Either way, it appears we are being observed for some purpose that one could only hope will lead to something beneficial for all humankind in the final analysis. Thus, a probe would be a very cost-effective tool to observe a semi-advance civilization with minimal species-to-species contact.
Apparently, these probes are too small for us to detect from space. Therefore, once they enter our atmosphere, they could appear as a bird on radar because of their minute size. This stealth mode of exploration of Earth now becomes a safe strategy for conducting business within our atmosphere (sending unmanned probes to Earth) considering our standing policy of dissection of UFO occupants if captured. Is this behavior any different than ours has been since we have been sending unmanned probes to planets in our solar system looking for any signs of life? Why shouldn’t it be likely that others are doing the same towards us? We have been involved in unmanned probes since the early 1960’s when the Russians tried to beat the U.S. to the red planet. Isn’t it conceivable that just one or two alien races are responsible for these earthbound probes?

The Axthadans and the Greys could be likely candidates as proposed by Michael Cohen in an article entitled:
UFO Messages: Earth might be completely destroyed. These probes could originate from bases established on the dark side of the moon (James Shannon, Conversations on the moon and The Huffington Post, Apollo Astronaut, Edgar Mitchell Claims UFO Cover UP). Indeed, they could have been grooming our civilization from the very beginning in preparation for one day inviting us to join them; provided certain conditions are met (Lawrence Vincent, Where do we go from here? ). Speculate on what that could mean for us as a species. Certainly it’s wise to presume that most of these beings will likely be far more advanced than we are and subsequently have a lot to offer humankind. As an emergent species, the impact of such an invitation would indeed be staggering to the human psyche as we struggle to find our place amongst the stars.
Lawrence Vincent is a science fiction writer and can be found at: www.strategicbookpublishing.com/DNA3-TheGreatDiscovery.html or Amazon’s online Kindle bookstore as well as Google Books: books.google.com/books keyword: dna3-the great discovery.
His current novel takes place one hundred thousand years ago in Africa, when Earth was visited by a benevolent race known as the Phalecians, in a science fiction novel called DNA3-The Great Discovery.

Younger Dryas Occurred Abruptly
December 1, 2009 | European Science Foundation

Isotopes in a mud core from Lough Monreach, Ireland, show that the Younger Dryas may have occurred very abruptly. When glacial Lake Agassiz flowed into the North Atlantic Ocean almost 13,000 years ago, the “Big Freeze” set in at once, possibly chilling the ocean within mere months. Could a rapid melting of the Greenland ice sheet in current times could produce a similar effect?
