"It's called cold cash because it is never in your pocket long enough to get warm" - Derry Brownfield
Friday morning ... the sun is shining and my birds outside are sunning themselves (how the outside little guys make it in this bitter cold is a natural miracle) ... but can't use shining as descriptive of those power-control freaks on this planet and their seeming never-ending attempt to be mini-gods or whatever.
We are now in a 'Climate Emergency' with Federal AGENCIES being able to take over - NOT 'needing' congressional approval.
Listening to Derry Brownfield ... he's not real happy with this newest emergency for more governmental control! For example, Derry is upset about how TILLING THE SOIL is dangerous to the atmosphere ... releases 'nitric oxide' ... he's a wee bit upset since he holds advanced degrees in agriculture. The government is in the business of putting the farmer out of business ... Essentially having a flower garden will be requiring a permit from the government if you plan to dig in the soil. Self-Sufficiency | Better health through soaking in Epsom Salt (You can grow your own)
But all of the subjects in a recent study experienced increased magnesium levels from soaking in a bath enriched with magnesium sulfate crystals, commonly known as Epsom Salt.
Studies show that magnesium is:
- An electrolyte, helping to ensure proper muscle, nerve and enzyme function.
- Critical to the proper use of calcium in cells.
- An aid in helping to prevent heart disease and strokes by lowering blood pressure, protecting the elasticity of arteries, preventing blood clots and reducing the risk of sudden heart attack deaths.
Medical research also indicates that magnesium may:
- Increase the effectiveness of insulin, helping to lower the risk or severity of diabetes.
- Reduce inflammation and relieves pain, making it a beneficial in the treatment of sore muscles, bronchial asthma, migraine headaches and fibromyalgia.
Although magnesium can be absorbed through the digestive tract, many foods, drugs and medical conditions can interfere with the effectiveness of this deliver method. Therefore, soaking in an Epsom Salt bath is one of the most effective means of making the magnesium your body needs readily available.
Epsom Salt also delivers sulfates, which medical research indicates are needed for the formation of brain tissue, joint proteins and the mucin proteins that line the walls of the digestive tract. Studies show that sulfates also stimulate the pancreas to generate digestive enzymes and help to detoxify the body's residue of medicines and environmental contaminants. Studies indicate that sulfates are difficult to absorb from food, but are readily absorbed through the skin.
Studies show these benefits from the major components of Epsom Salt may:
Magnesium:
- Ease stress and improves sleep and concentration
- Help muscles and nerves function properly
- Regulate activity of 325+ enzymes
- Help prevent artery hardening and blood clots
- Make insulin more effective
- Reduce inflammation to relieve pain and muscle cramps
- Improve oxygen use
Sulfates:
- Flush toxins
- Improve absorption of nutrients
- Help form joint proteins, brain tissue and mucin proteins
- Help prevent or ease migraine headaches
GROWING EPSOM SALT
You can find Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) in the laundry and pharmacy sections of most stores.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: A Few Days
Here's How:
1. Boil 1/2 cup water on the stove.
2. Remove the water from heat and add 1/4 cup epsom salts.
Stir the mixture until the salt is fully dissolved. If desired, add food coloring.
4. Place the container in a warm or sunny location. Crystals will form as the water evaporates.
Tips:
1. The sponge provides extra surface area to allow the crystals to form more quickly and helps make them a bit easier to view and handle.
2. Compare the appearance of the epsom salts before stirring them into the water with the appearance of the crystals that are produced.

SILVER NEWS
National Inflation Association (NIA) Declares Silver Best Investment for Next Decade
December 11, 2009
Throughout world history, only ten times more silver has been mined than gold. If you go back about 1,000 years ago between the years 1000 and 1250, gold was worth ten times more than silver worldwide. From year 1250 to 1792, the gold to silver ratio slowly increased from 10 to 15 and the Coinage Act of 1792 officially defined a gold to silver ratio of 15. The ratio remained at 15 until forty-two years later when the ratio was increased in 1834 to 16, where it remained until silver was demonetized in 1873.
The gold to silver ratio remained between 10 and 16 for 873 years! It is only over the past 100 years that the gold to silver ratio has averaged 50. History will look back at the artificially high gold to silver ratio of the past century as an anomaly, caused by the dollar bubble and the world being deceived into believing that fiat currencies are real money, when in fact they're all an illusion. Next decade, the fiat currency experiment will end badly in a currency crisis. The wealthiest people will be those who bought silver today and were smart enough to research and pick the best silver mining stocks.
While the vast majority of the gold ever produced remains sitting in vaults, 95% of the silver produced has been consumed by industry for thousands of applications in such tiny amounts that most of it will never be recycled and seen on the market again. Nobody knows the exact above ground supply of silver today, but most likely it is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 billion ounces. That's a total worldwide market value of only $17.4 billion, when the world has over $7 trillion in foreign currency reserves, mostly in fiat currencies that they will need to diversify out of due to rampant inflation.
Besides the fact that the world has been ignoring the monetary value of silver, silver prices are artificially low due to a large concentrated naked short position. It's not a coincidence that the day silver reached its multi-decade high of over $21 per ounce in March of 2008, was the same day Bear Stearns failed. Bear Stearns was a holder of a massive short position in silver. In our opinion, this was likely a naked short position because there is nobody in the world who owns such a large amount of silver for Bear Stearns to have borrowed.
The reason why we believe the Federal Reserve was so eager to orchestrate a bailout of Bear Stearns, is because Bear Stearns was on the verge of being forced to cover their silver short position. Because the silver market is so small and tightly held, if Bear Stearns was forced to cover their short position, silver prices could've potentially rose to $50 per ounce or higher overnight. The world would've seen how economically unstable our country is and confidence in the U.S. dollar would've rapidly deteriorated.
JP Morgan still holds the silver short position they inherited from Bear Stearns. The concentrated naked short position in silver today is the largest short position in the history of all commodities, as a percentage of its market size. Eventually, JP Morgan will have to cover this short position or it could jeopardize their existence.
The best evidence that the short position in silver is naked and not backed by real silver, is the differential between what silver trades for on the Comex and what real people are willing to pay for physical silver on eBay. Every hour on eBay, there are dozens of one ounce silver coins selling for approximately $25. That's about a 43% premium over the current spot price of silver. With so much demand for physical silver, we doubt the silver shorts in the paper market will be able to manipulate prices downward for much longer. A major short squeeze could be right around the corner and silver could take off in a way that shocks even those who are most bullish.

Bankers might be feeling public’s wrath — literally
Thursday, December 10th, 2009 -- 4:13 pm
A Los Angeles lawyer who had represented a failed subprime mortgage lender is found dead outside his home, having been shot in the head.
Three men allegedly invade the home of a former subprime lender, and are arrested after reportedly injuring three people inside.
Vandals target the home of the former CEO of the Royal Bank of Scotland, smashing windows in the banker's home and car.
Those are just three notable incidents of violence aimed at people who were in some way linked to the financial crisis that has unfolded over the past year. And while in many of those cases it's unclear whether the incidents were politically motivated, or motivated by financial issues, or just a coincidence, the cases fit into a pattern of escalating crime and violence in the wake of the recession.
Matthew Padilla of the Orange Country Register reports on a series of violent incidents in California in some way linked to the financial collapse ...

GEMINID METEOR SHOWERS
"It's the Geminid meteor shower," says Bill Cooke of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office. "and it will peak on Dec. 13th (Sat) and 14th (Sun) under ideal viewing conditions."
More Geminids were sighted in Santa Cruz, California, where Ed Sweeney caught two bright ones streaking through urban light pollution. "They seemed to come directly from Castor and Pollux," he says.

Colored ‘fireballs’ light up evening sky
Published: Friday, December 11, 2009 3:09 AM HST
WAILUA — Residents are still talking about the unique light show they witnessed in the evening skies last week.
A “big ol’ honking fireball” was what Steve Yoder said he saw while he was on his way to Wailua from Waimea the night of Dec. 2. A “flaming green” object lit up the eastern sky right before 9 p.m.
“I hadn’t started drinking yet,” he said with a laugh.
In fact, Yoder said he found it hard to believe there has not yet been an explanation for what he saw, much like the loud noise over Kalaheo reported by residents in May of this year.
“I’ve seen meteorites all my life,” he said. But added that what he saw was much different. “It was either a gigantic asteroid or one of the biggest meteorites I have ever seen.”
About the size of a dime in the sky, it traveled at a downward angle for less than five seconds until it disappeared into the horizon, he said.
Residents as far as Anahola also reported seeing similar “orange and green” objects beginning around dusk the same evening, “some of them hovering over car ports in Anahola,” said an Eastside resident who wished to remain anonymous.
The observer was one of many Eastside residents, particularly in the Waipouli and Wailua Homesteads areas, who saw unusual activity occurring around 8 p.m.
“There was an incredible number of shooting stars that night,” they added. “We always have beautiful stars dashing everywhere, but this was an amazing sight.”
“PMRF did not have any range operations, either on land or in the air on the evening of Dec. 2,” wrote Pacific Missile Range Facility’s spokesperson Tom Clements. “As a reminder, we also did not have operations on the evening that the (possibly jet) noise was heard over Kalaheo.”
University of Hawai‘i Professor of Astronomy Dr. Gareth Wynn-Williams said what witnesses are describing “certainly sounds like a large meteor.”
“While it’s always a thrill to see one, they are not all that uncommon and they don’t get centrally recorded anywhere, as far as I know,” he wrote in an e-mail Thursday. “But if you were to see part of it actually hit the ground, it would be well worth searching for the meteorite itself.”
What one observes in the sky is actually called a meteor and is referenced as a meteorite when it hits the ground, he added.
“Only the very largest meteors make it through to be meteorites,” he said.
Whether or not the objects seen were actually meteors, they continue to be unidentified. However, “the most reliable meteor shower of the year,” according to Skyscrapers Inc., is set to peak this weekend.
More than 100 meteors can be seen per hour during the Geminids meteor shower and it should be “a great show for Hawai‘i,” according to gohawaii.com.
The shower can occur between Dec. 7 and Dec. 17, but peaks Dec. 13 and 14.

“India’s Ties With Others Not At Cost of Russia”
After a one-on-one meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev at the Kremlin which he described as “very productive”, Manmohan Singh said, “a stronger Russia is important for world peace.”
Both India and Russia have a joint role to play to deal with regional and international issues, including steps for revival of global economy, terrorism and reforms of international institutions, Manmohan Singh said in his opening remarks before the two sides got into delegation-level talks.
Noting that he was visiting Russia for the second time this year, the Prime Minister said this showed the importance attached by India in taking forward the bilateral relations in various spheres.
“Our relations with third countries will never be at the cost of our time-tested relationship with Russia,” he said.
He said Indo-Russia strategic partnership is a “unique” partnership, firmly rooted in mutual interest and confidence and a shared vision of a multi-polar world.
In his remarks, the Russian President said the agreements finalized by the two countries reflected the strategic partnership of a “great variety”.
Medvedev said both at the dinner on Dec 6at the countryside residence and on Dec 7 morning in a formal setting, he had discussed with Manmohan Singh issues relating to enhancing the strategic partnership.
The Russian President noted that Indo-Russian trade has increased by eight per cent despite a global slowdown and said this augmented well for the improvement of bilateral ties in this area. Manmohan Singh shared the sentiments of Medvedev on this issue.
At the private dinner Dec 6 night, Manmohan Singh assured his host that New Delhi still regards Moscow as its most important partner.
Manmohan Singh began his Moscow schedule Dec 7 with the laying of wreath at the Tomb of Unknown Soldier with eternal flame.
Medvedev is also hosting lunch in honor of Manmohan Singh in the ornate Alexander Hall of the Kremlin palace.
During their informal talks last night, Manmohan Singh said: “I want to assure you that relations with Russia are most important and we have no such relations with any other country of the world.
On his part, Medvedev said: “Every visit of the Indian Prime Minister is always a big event.
“It can only be like this because Russia and India are good friends,” Medvedev said.

Injection molding: We pulled our molds -- After acquiring its key competitor earlier this year, it didn’t take long for officials at U.S. Block Windows to recognize that logistics issues plus their own low-cost captive molding capacity were reason enough to pull molds from a Chinese processor and bring them to its own captive molding facility in western Florida. The company also pulled some extrusion tooling from overseas and now has that work done by processors in the U.S. The company’s challenge, he explained, is the number of different blocks it markets. “Hy-Lite had a lot of inventory, and they had to have it due to the long lead times” when shipping from overseas, he explained. “The value (in China) can make sense in a busy market and if you don’t have your own captive processing,” he said. “But we’re comparing with our in-house molding costs, and the costs aren’t that much more here.” Should demand surge, the company has identified a contract molder in Ohio as its backup.
